During February 2008, we had the pleasure of attending two firearm related Expo’s.

The first one was the Wild Deer Hunting & Guiding Expo in Wadonga VIC. We had a great time there, meeting so many like-minded hunting enthusiasts! It was a pleasure talking with each and every one of you who stopped by our stand. It was great to see so many families there. By all the young smiling faces, we are confident that sport shooting and hunting will continue on.

We were also impressed by the level of professionalism and friendliness from all the exhibitors. We had the good fortune of being next to Ian and Pam Head of “WSX Wing& Game Shooting Expeditions”. Alex’s dream of hunting Africa was re-ignited after speaking with Ian and admiring his video footage. We were impressed by the quality of safari’s on offer. See their website at www.wingshooting.com.au

Another couple we met and instantly got on with was Scott and Pauline Thornton of “Total Knife Care”. Alex Beer They were promoting their line of knife sharpening machines. Now the proud owners ourselves of one of their machines, every one of our knives is honed to a fine cutting edge. We can recommend these machines to anyone interested in a professional edge to their knives within seconds of turning on the machine. It was so easy to use. If you are interested, check out their website, www.totalknifecare.com.au

We also got to meet Rob Gale from “Hunts NT”. After speaking with Rob for some time about the love of the hunt, Alex was sure Rob could offer a package to satisfy even the most experienced hunter. Their tag line pretty much says it all “ At HuntsNT, our number one priority is to provide our clients with the highest quality hunting experience for the most competitive fee possible”. If this sounds like what you are looking for, we would suggest visiting their website, www.huntsnt.com and seeing what they have to offer.

Alex Beer Next we went to the SCI Expo in Nelson Bay, NSW. This was very different from the Wadonga Expo, but we enjoyed this one too! We were able to catch up with newly made friends amongst the other exhibitors, plus we got to meet some exciting new contacts within the hunting industry. Again, we enjoyed talking with all who stopped by our booth and thank you all for your positive and encouraging comments.
Alex Beer It was here we met Peet Bezuidenhout from Tshipise Safaris (pictured here with Alex) . Peet is a South African guide with a 10,000 hectare property on the banks of the Limpopo River. This place looks like a piece of heaven on earth. They cater for those who want either “Big 5”, Plains Game or Wing Shooting safaris. For those who don’t want to hunt, they also have photographic safari’s as well. The scenery is magnificent and the lodgings look superb. Take a look at www.tshipisesafaris.com and see how they can accommodate your dream African Safari.

And we again had the great pleasure of spending some time with the incredibly talented Kate Ferguson. Kate (the one on the left) is a lovely, soft spoken lady with an incredible gift. She was at the SCI Expo with her sister Sharon. Kate had some of her absolutely exquisite work on display. Never before have we seen, quite literally, photos hand painted on canvas. Kate immortalizes wildlife in oil paints in a brilliant life-like manner. She captures the attitudes, the grace and the aura of the moment in a truly magnificent work of art. Her talents with a paint brush just have to be seen to be believed. Don’t just take our word for it, go to www.kateferguson.com and see for yourself. Highly recommended!!
